CO2 emissions need to be cut immediately. Expansion is counter to all scientific advice on reaching net zero. Millions are already suffering the devastating effects of climate change. Their lives are threatened by our desire to fly, pursue a bucket list and see the world - when the very world people feel entitled to see is in danger of extinction! Aviation is the fastest growing source of climate emissions worldwide. Aviation is the highest carbon emitting form of transport. Aviation is responsible for around 10 percent of UK emissions. A second runway would add over one million tonnes of extra carbon a year, plus other greenhouse gases, soot, and vapours. Flights should be stopped, reduced, rationed not increased. Increasing flights will kill any hope of a liveable future. You are on the wrong side of history. Climate collapse will be the end of all living things. There are no flights when humans no longer exist.
