I support this application. I lived in Crawley since 1956 to 1999. The Airport is a very important part of Crawley, and surrounding area, for it's economy, infrastructure, and the people of the area wellbeing. The Second runway will help dissipate the noise for the those living in the area, as the flight paths would be spread over a bigger area, but shorter time, as Heathrow does. The majority of people who live in the are have known the airport is there, and, as with the Original Plan, for THREE Rrunways, have known the Airport could expand. The Aircraft that use Gatwick Airport now have a LOWER noise footprint, even though the engines are more powerful. t The engines are getting GREENER, using BIO- Fuel, of which the manufacturers are looking at a more Greener way to fuel aircraft. If you look at the area in and around the Airport you will find a Diverse ENVIRONMENT, for Wildlife, Flora and Fauna. Within areas the airport, as they are mainly because humans leave them alone. This includes outside of the Airport boundry, due to very little development due to the Buffer Zone, and GREENBELT land, Which must be Kept, and Protected by a Covernant, or within the Terms of the Planning Approval. Gatwick Airport, has, since its beginning in 1930's, had better and more Sustainable Public Transport link than many airports around the Country, by having a railway right by the airport, good roads, and Coach/bus transport, already in place, then and now. With the M23 built this has also given refuge to many species of Fauna and Flora, that may have disappeared over time. People say the projects destroy habitats, they actually save them and give new habitats for the wildlife.
