I wish to object to the proposed expansion of Gatwick Airport using its reserve runway. During busy periods in the past, the aircraft noise has become intolerable and it's distressing to think that we might be subject to even more extreme levels of disruption and disturbance in the future. Fundamentally, the arguments against expansion of Gatwick are still as strong as they were in 2015 when the Airport Commission recommended expansion of Heathrow in preference to Gatwick. This decision should have closed the matter. The most notable change since this time is the understanding that urgent measures need to be taken to control CO2 emissions, which completely flies in the face of the proposed expansion.
