I object most strenuously against the expansion of Gatwick, including the construction of a second runway. The most significant issues are the increasing local and global pollution, especially including greenhouse gases. The UK government claims, and has said since COP26, that it intends for the UK to be a global leader in the shift from climate-damaging behaviours to environmental sustainability. Yet this proposed expansion of Gatwick Airport for local and international flights is in complete contradiction to these stated aims. There should and must be NO further increase in capacity, including runways, as well as associated services, at London Gatwick or elsewhere.
