The proposals will have extremely detrimental impact on the residents of the region. Tunbridge Wells area is already suffering, and has been for some years, from the intrusive noise from aircraft using Gatwick Airport. The concentration of flight paths and low approaches already causes disruption to lives, and night flights disrupt sleep. This has a negative impact on our health and wellbeing, particularly in the summer when air traffic is concentrated. We have been complaining for many years about the current situation. The proposed increase in capacity would make life intolerable. Additionally, local and regional infrastructure cannot cope with a large increase in passenger numbers. Recent road and rail improvements have only just alleviated some of the current problems. The proposals are completely unacceptable.
