I object strongly to this project for the following reasons: I would like to express my concern regarding the impact of this project on the conservation areas of Fen Ditton and Horningsea. It is my understanding that building on agricultural Green Belt is contrary to national and local planning policy. I am concerned about construction and operational traffic between Horningsea and Fen Ditton Primary School. Most of all I do not understand how it can even be considered to replace a fully-functioning sewage works with an unnecessary carbon heavy cement construction. It is my understanding that Honey Hill should have been discounted as an option right from the start because of the Principal Chalk Aquifer which makes it unsuitable for sinking the structures necessary for infrastructure of this kind which would have been far more appropriate for a flat, fenland setting. I am concerned about the impact on the approach to the historic city of Cambridge from the East being marred by this project. I am not satisfied that the impact on Quy Fen – a Site of Special Scientific Interest has been fully considered/evaluated. I believe this should also be taken into consideration for Wicken Fen and the Cambridgeshire Dykes. Living very close to the proposed site I am also concerned about the effect of odour on school, residences and businesses in the area which I did not feel has been answered satisfactorily yet. I am concerned about the proposed change of landscape from flat fenland to intrusive bund and digesters caused by this project. I do not feel that the effect on wildlife and biodiversity has been fully looked into and I am concerned that greenbelt land is being built on at all. As the proposed project has now signficant improvements to the existing plant I feel there is a lack of consideration given to keeping the plant where it is and making it state of the art and smell proof.
