The smell from the sewage works was enormously reduced after the expensive upgrade in 2015. Anglian Water said that upgrade made the sewage works future proofed for decades. It is an appalling waste to demolish a perfectly good sewage works just to move it a mile up the road and rebuild. I have used the Horningsea junction off the A14 for over 20 years and it is so peaceful and lovely as you turn on to that little country road with its fields and trees. With so many mental health problems around these days we really need to preserve places like this. The more Cambridge grows the more we need to protect our green places for the health of the people who live here already and those who move here. This is Green Belt and it should be protected against development and against the sewage plant moving there. I think the sewage plant should stay where it is.
