These are time to preserve arable lands. These are times to shield wildlife. These are times to be cautious about public spending. These are times to protect mental wealth. These are not times to put private benefits first, relocate operational facilities and destroy Cambridge’s surrounding countryside by pouring concrete. How many surrounding villages have been turned into dormitories and lost their history? If those extensions need water treatment plants, why is it not part of the development planning, locally, instead of thrusting the load on surrounding villages who just want to enjoy the life they have set goals for as a community?
