I wish to register as an Interested Party for a reason particular to our own situation, and several more general reasons. The particular reason is that our water supply is entirely from our own well: therefore we are entirely dependent on the aquifer which is at risk from the proposed plan to build an entirely unnecessary sewage works on the Green Belt just outside our beautiful village. More generally, the Green Belt is a treasure for the people of Cambridge and surrounding villages, both now and for future generations, and it should not be wrecked by short-sighted plans that forget the very point and principle of having Green Belts in the first place. The location is completely inappropriate, independently of its Green Belt status. The Honey Hill area is a precious reserve for wildlife and green spaces, close to River Cam, and close to Quy Fen, a Site of Special Scientific Interest, with intimately interconnected underground aquifers. The proposed haulage of sewage by lorry near our village is an additional affront, given the already intolerable traffic situation in this area.
