The potential siting of a major sewage works just 1.5km from the new build I purchased at Marleigh was never declared by Hill or Marshall at the time of purchase. The enormous environmental impact of this scheme alongside the impact of the Marleigh scheme is indefensible. While this solution may represent the easy answer for the parties concerned, there has been clearly very little thought given to the impact on the environment or the local community. I would urge the authorities to rethink this project and consider alternative solutions using the existing site that do not require eating up new land and spewing out carbon. Englands green and pleasant lands are shrinking rapidly and it is the scheming of greedy developers and the arrogance of local authorities focused on short term benefits that is eroding our environment.
