I am concerned about the building of a massive infrastructure on GREENBELT agricultural land, and the impact on our countryside and wildlife , so depleted now. I dont hear enough details on how all the extra water needed for the proposed increase in both construction of the Water Treatment , and all the new proposed future housing on the existing sewage site , are to be facilitated. There is vague talk of a new reservoir in the future . How will this link up to the proposed constructions ? This is not well thought through as we are in the driest region of the country here. I live in North East Cambridge and am concerned on the impact of yet more construction on a large scale on the access roads at the Milton Road junctions and also access to the countryside at Fen Ditton , Horningsea. The A 14 is a major trunk road now and can become very congested at peak times , which will also impact everyones ability to get around both in and out of the City. As the existing Water Treatment works are perfectly adequate already for many years to come there does not appear to be a case for moving it at all. There is also the case that our taxes are being used to fund a private company , and we see the state of our water in the river today they are not doing a very good job of keeping the existing water in our rivers and streams up to a good standard. Perhaps all our taxes would be better used in the Water companies being placed back in PUblic ownership now . I really dont believe a case has been made for building a massive structure on GREEN BELT land for no benefit but instead a massive loss to our environment for now and future generations.
