There has bee no consideration of the impact on the conservation areas of Fen Ditton and Horningsea. This has been overlooked by Anglian Water. Building on Green Belt land in order to open brown sites for housing is a clearly corrupt practice. As the Greenbelt can't be used for housing without serious alterations of zoning, Anglian Water's sudden "need" to relocate an updated water treatment plant, the stated rationale of developing the brown site is clearly the only reason this has been proposed. Opening up the local area to constant heavy traffic for years to come purely for the benefit of private development on a brown site shows the complete disregard for local people. There has been absolutely no evidence that this will benefit the carbon footprint of the area. In fact, there is only the acknowledgement that this won't reduce carbon emissions. There is an open acknowledgement by Anglian Water, local councilors, and local residents that the only reason this has been proposed is to allow for more development of property on the existing site. There is no need to move the site, but we're willing to foot the bill of a private company to allow other private companies charge inflated prices for apartments in North Cambridge? It's so obviously corrupt, that it got this far, that I'm amazed it isn't a scandal on the level of Thames Water.
