I am wholly opposed to this project particularly as it is so close to a very important aquafer. It is using up valuable GREEN BELT productive agricultural land - still being farmed. It is almost next to (if not part of) a conservation area. It is in full sight of the “Biggin Abbey Settlement” - a listed 11th century building (still inhabited), surrounded by five other dwellings (also inhabited) It is right beside the A14, near the junction. This highway is frequently at a standstill due to RTA’s and therefore would probably disrupt operations at the site due to the delay of plant/vehicles. There is just one small field between the A14 junction and the picturesque access to these properties. Therefore, to have a major junction for the site at this point would be totally unmanageable, given that the properties would have no access whilst works are taking place. The site is a designated area for access to the public to a prolific wildlife area - both flora and fauna, with many routes across to the fens. It is proposed to have large digester towers above ground which will be a blot on the landscape for miles around. The existing plant has recently been upgraded to last for a couple of decades yet. I fail to understand how this proposed scheme can be completed with the existing proposed budget given that there is to be such extensive (highways)? work to be carried out to facilitate it. I may be naive but I would have thought it to be far more cost effective, safer and easier maintenance if smaller, ground level digesters were incorporated into each new major development that is proposed in the future.
