The proposed relocation of the sewage works to green belt land is in my opinion wrong. It is not operationally necessary to move the sewage works. And is disingenuous to imply that the proposed new housing on the current sewage works will be built on a brownfield site if in order to free up that land a new brownfield site will be created. The proposed site will in my opinion. blight the landscape. It will create a large industrial complex in a rural setting. Horningsea is one of the few villages close to Cambridge that has maintained its distinct rural and historic character. It will destroy a natural environment for wildlife and humans. The increasing Cambridge population needs wild places to enjoy. The construction of the site will also affect me personally in cycling into Cambridge and walking my dog ( and grandchildren ) over to Quy fen The lighting of the sky , the noise, the smell and lorries using our small roads. And increased traffic and risk of accidents and pollution. There appears to have been no consideration of the local population for eg building a seperate access road from the A14.
