Anglia Water have no clear need to move or upgrade the sewage works. This is a project purely driven by a desire to develop and profit from the land it currently sits on. Building on green belt land is against national and local planning policy. The existing sewage works is built to last until 2050 and there is no actual need to relocate. The huge carbon cost of relocating has not been adequately considered and factored into decision making.
