I am extremely concerned about a possible threat to a Principle Chalk Aquifer which according to DEFRA is at high risk of groundwater contamination. Honey Hill should have been discounted as an option right from the start because of the Principal Chalk Aquifer which makes it unsuitable for sinking the structures necessary for infrastructure of this kind which would have been far more appropriate for a flat, fenland setting. This Fenland landscape is world renowned for it's stark beauty, flatlands with uninterrupted vistas. We worry about skylines and large buildings looking out of place in heavily developed town and city environments, and so the shock to the environment and visual aspect of placing a heavily industrial, exceedingly tall wastewater treatment plant in the middle of a stark and beautifully flat fenced landscape is even more terrible and a desecration of this natural essential greenbelt area.
