I strongly object to Anglian Water's proposal to relocate the CWWTP from an industrial brownfield site to pristine farmland in the Cambridge Green Belt at Honey Hill. The current works have been futureproofed at a cost of £17.4m. Anglian Water have stated that there is no operational need to move the Milton works. £227m HIF public money has been granted to fund this project. I strongly object to the use of public money to fund a private company to enable them to profit from development of the Milton site. Will the £227m cover the cost of the project? If successful will the £227m HIF also include the cost of decommissioning the existing plant or will further public funds be required? Is this the best use of public money when public services such as health and education are under funded and under resourced? Is the £227m HIF finite?
