I strongly object to this application; I consider the main issues and impacts to be: • Negative impact on the conservation areas of Fen Ditton and Horningsea • Building on Green Belt is contrary to national and local planning policies. • This industrialisation north of the A14 will devalue the remaining Green Belt making further inappropriate development inevitable • Negative impact on the approach to the historic city of Cambridge from the East creating a poor gateway • Negative impact of change of character of landscape from open flat fenland to intrusive bund and digesters • Negative impact on setting of listed buildings and scheduled monuments • Negative impact of odour on n residences, school and businesses • Negative impact of frequent heavy construction and operational traffic between Horningsea and Fen Ditton on local pedestrian, cycle and road infrastructure • Increase in heavy traffic to already heavily congested primary route from A14 to central Cambridge. • Increased noise and pollution from impact of traffic on local residences • Lack of an independent access from the A14 compounding traffic congestion and creating safety issues • Threat to a Principle Chalk Aquifer • The Principal Chalk Aquifer prevents sinking of the Water Works structures increasing visual impact • Effect on existing wildlife and biodiversity, including destruction of unique natural habitats including those of the bee population • Impact on Quy Fen – a Site of Special Scientific Interest • Impact on Wicken Fen nature reserve • Impact on the Cambridgeshire Dykes • Lack of consideration given to keeping the plant where it is • There is a heavy carbon cost of replacing a working sewage works which had recently been upgraded and ‘future proofed”
