Honey Hill Fen Ditton proposed sewage farm: I believe that this will be an environmental and visual catastrophe. The proposal of moving a fully functioning sewage works to an area of green belt land renowned for its local beauty makes a mockery of the government ‘greening’ efforts , the amount of pollution created by this move must be quantified. I believe that the creation of housing at the Cowley Road site is not relative to the cost (the site would have to be decontaminated as well as the cost of the creation of the new site) both in pound and pence and environmentally. This is a site of exceptional beauty and visually this sewage works will have a great impact on the locality. Traffic in the area is extremely heavy at peak times already - the addition of up to 6 sludge lorries an hour, let alone the impact of the commercial vehicles to build the site. The proposal makes a mockery of designating something as green belt!
